Tax Credit
Thanks to the Arizona
charitable tax credit law, state taxpayers now have more
incentive to make cash donations to qualified charitable
organizations such as JFCS.
This tax credit for
supporting a nonprofit organization that helps the poor
in our community is separate from the school tax credits
you may have heard about. If you qualify for it, the
$200 - $400 credit is available to you, even if you are
also receiving a tax credit for supporting a public or
private school. Keep in mind that this is not a tax
deduction, but a tax credit, which means contributions
may earn a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona
income tax. To make a secure donation, click here.
For tax year 2007, taxpayers filing as single and
unmarried head of household have a maximum credit amount
of $200. Taxpayers that are filing as married filing
joint have a maximum credit of $400. Taxpayers filing
married filing separate have a maximum credit of $200.
