Trusted Advisors Program – TAP
The Trusted Advisors Program (TAP) provides short-term goal-oriented case management for low-income residents of Pima County. Participants in this program meet regularly with a case manager to identify a concrete goal and work toward achieving it over three months. Case managers support participants in meeting their goal by offering life skills coaching, advocacy, and education.
Examples of goals TAP clients might work on:
- Renewing Section 8 voucher
- Opening a bank account
- Filing for Social Security or Social Security Disability
The TAP Process
Engagement in TAP starts with a phone call or email to JFCS to request support.
Clients might meet their TAP case manager over the phone, over Zoom, in person at the JFCS office, or at the client’s home. Case managers occasionally go with clients to medical appointments or government offices, as is indicated by the work they are doing together. The frequency of meetings ranges from weekly to monthly, depending on the goal.
At the end of your three-month TAP term, your case manager will work through a transition process with you to make sure you’re set up well to continue working on your goal or to celebrate your success.
Overall, the goal of this program is to support and equip clients in reaching their goals.
This program is free to clients; we bill AHCCCS for services and have some grant funds that enable us to serve a few clients who do not have AHCCCS.
